I absolutely ADORE photographing first year packages. It’s an amazing experience to watch these teeny newborns turn into spunky, opinionated, rowdy little people over the course of twelve short months. I appreciate how special it is to have these milestones captured even more now that I have my own little girl.
Miss Ava started out just a wee thing of five pounds and some change and just a few weeks ago I got to photograph her running around a park posing like a sassy little champ. Her talented artist mama designed her nursery herself with lots of original artwork and handmade goodies. It’s so full of color and life, just like the little girl it was designed for.
Thanks so much for trusting me to document your little nugget’s first year, Amanda and Elliot!
She’s a beautiful artist, he’s a handsome musician. Their style is full of life and fun and so much love. I really love so many parts of getting to document wedding days, but my favorite part is getting to witness all of the love. The couple, their friends and their family–it’s an amazing privilege, really. Sarah + Joey’s day was gorgeous in so many ways. I wasn’t surprised at all to see how much they are adored by everyone around them. Their love is pure magic. It invites you in and warms you up and you are made better for it.

The first time I met Heather I was 22 years old. She was a good friend’s roommate. Both single ladies, we sat on a crushed velvet yellow couch from the seventies and discussed every single twenty-something’s favorite topic. Boys. For hours. If only we had a crystal ball, we could have looked into the future to see the two lovely men who would, years later, become our husbands and relaxed a little bit. It was really special to be a part of Heather’s wedding to Tony. Every corner was bursting with personality, just like the lovely couple. Vintage style, Rifle Paper inspired florals, Berger Park along Lake Michigan, and the most adorable little pie shop complete with picnic tables and a bluegrass band provided the backdrop for their gorgeous wedding day.
The last few weeks have been a flurry of weddings, family sessions and the beginning of the fall engagement sessions. These are just a taste of all the sweet and wonderful bits of love I’ve had the privilage to photograph lately. Stay tuned for the full posts coming soon!
